You sprint towards your enemy with your sword high in the air.
Ready to strike. Ready to end him.
But the Commander backs up against the wall, quickly moving aside.
Your sword misses him completely and strikes the solid stone wall.
You tug hard, but the sword is lodged between the thin crack of two stone blocks.
You yell in frustration and anger, pulling at it with all your strength. It won’t move.
You’re only weapon and advantage against your enemy.
“Well…now,” he says in a darkened, low voice that rolls through you. “How will you get out of this one, y/n?”
You give up the sword, backing away from him as he closes in on you.
“Give me my blade, and I will show you, Commander,” you say.
“I have no doubt of what you can do.” His green eyes flick over you, sizing you up.
As he approaches you, you swing at his face, which he blocks with his forearm. You throw another, aiming at his side, and he blocks again.
You throw a right hook, and to your shock, he grips your arm, not releasing. He spins you around so your back presses tightly up against his body, which is like steel against your softness, so you cannot move now.
“Release me,” you yell.
“Why would I do something foolish like that?”
“Why not?” you demand, feeling ridiculous for asking such questions as his prisoner.
“Because you are a danger to my men and everyone around you,” he rasps.
He reaches out with warm fingers, pinching your neck with his trick.
And your entire body goes limp again. Falling, falling, falling all over again. Oh no.
You fully expect to hit the cold stone ground.
But you’re shocked when he catches you. And he lifts you in his arms once more.
“I already told you before. There’s no escaping and no going back to that place,” he whispers softly. “You don’t belong there.”
What?
“Sleep,” he whispers, and your eyes are suddenly so heavy that you close them for just a moment.
