Her POV
You and e/n had to take a road trip together.
“E/n, do you want me to drive for a while?” you ask, feeling bad that he’s doing all the driving.
It’s a five-hour ride, and it’s getting really dark.
He rests his right arm on the center console, where yours is at, thinking it over.
The sudden warm touch of his skin against yours sends a little shockwave through you.
Your cheeks heat.
“I live driving.” He keeps his arm in place.
You clear your throat nervously.
“Let’s hear my playlist,” you say as a distraction, connecting your phone.
“Sure.”
The music pumps out, but you eventually fall asleep from exhaustion.
HIS POV
We get to y/n’s house, and I park my car.
I don’t want to wake her. She looks so peaceful when she’s asleep. So beautiful.
I go to the passenger side and lift her up in my arms.
She nuzzles her head against my bicep.
It feels so nice, too nice. If you know what I mean.
I swallow hard as I carry her inside.
I tuck her into her bed and pull the covers around her shoulders.
There’s a little lock of hair over her forehead.
I sweep it behind her ear.
I’m about to leave her bedroom.
But the last thing I hear is her softly mumbling.
“E/n…”
I turn, thinking she woke up. But she’s still asleep.
She called out for me in her sleep.
